www.scstatehouse.net/cgi-bin/web_bh10exe. SECTION    1.    Article 1, Chapter 11, Title 57 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 57-11-35.    Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no state highway funds or other state funds, regardless of source, may be expended on any roadway or bridge crossing the North Santee Swamp as any part of a highway project, commonly called the 'Briggs-DeLaine-Pearson Connector'."

Background

This bill would stop all state funding and cost -share for the Briggs-DeLaine Pearson Connector. This could help stop the unnecessary and wasteful bridge across the Upper Santee Swamp.
