March 21: Greenville meeting.

The Why and How of Sustainable Houses

Jennifer Gosnell is the principal of Gosnell Architecture in Greenville. She has over 21 years of experience in commercial and residential work.

She was on the steering committee and was the Program Chair for the local branch of the United States Green Building Council South Carolina (USGBC–SC) from 2009-2011. She is currently on the local committee for Sustain SC, the yearly conference and expo of USGBC–SC, being held in Greenville
this March.

She has always been a proponent of the environment, in work and in play, and is excited by the current sustainability movement in design and construction.

She will explain why we need to change the way we build and how to use current technology and common sense practice to increase the energy-efficiency of your house.

Spartanburg: TBA.

Greenville: April: Celebrate Earth Day!

The Bartram Group will celebrate Earth Day by hosting a service project on Saturday, April 21.

The specifics of the project are still being worked out. However, we do know that a celebration of hard work and community development will be held at the Swamp Rabbit Cafe & Grocery following the project. The Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery provides our community with equitable access to local foods.

It is located right on the Swamp Rabbit Trail which means, of course, you can bike there. Plan on spending your Saturday morning and early afternoon with members of the Bartram Group as we work on and celebrate our local community!

Volunteers in Action:

  • Thanks to the following who worked on trail maintenance
at Hospital Rock on November 19: Anne Markel, Lamar Martin,

  • A special thanks to Stephen Edgerton and Coldwell Banker Caine for the use of their Gallery for our Christmas party
