Welcome to the Winyah Group of the South Carolina Sierra Club!  We’d like to get to know you. The state chapter is comprised of ten local groups.  Our Winyah Group includes members who live in Horry and Georgetown Counties.

 

The group meets the first Monday of every month (except those dates that fall on a holiday) at 11:30am at the Applewood Pancake House, 14361 Ocean Highway (Highway 17) on Pawley’s Island in Litchfield.  Dutch treat $9.00 includes tip.

 

On the first Monday of each month, the Conservation Group for Georgetown County meets at 11:30 a.m. at Pastoria 811 Restaurant in the Litchfield Exchange.  This “Southern” gathering focuses on Georgetown County.  Everyone is welcome.

 

Guest speakers keep us informed on environmental issues locally and statewide, including wetlands, land use planning, and water quality.  We have a special interest in promoting recycling.

 

We publish a bi-monthly newsletter covering Winyah Group activities including outings and other special gatherings.  You will also receive the Congaree Chronicle from the South Carolina Chapter and the national Sierra Magazine.  For more information please contact John Bracken, our Membership Chair, at (843)237-1387.
